A well used 1908 Pattern webbing haversack, possibly dated 1914 and is marked externally to a member of the ATS.
This example has had both sets of brass buckles and tabs removed, indicating its use as a side bag with a strap. The markings are obliterated except for the faint digit 4, possibly indicating manufacture in 1914.
The inked name to the front appears to W/ 2927098 Laws M A, this is an ATS number and may well prove traceable.
Condition is well used and worn, with some verdigris to the metalwork. The central cotton divider has also been cut out. Nonetheless, a rather unusual example.
