A pair of RAF officers mess dress trousers in blue barathea wool, most likely dating from the 1950s.
RAF mess dress was used extensively before the Second World War but its use ceased during the war, coming back into fashion in the post-war era.
This pair is complete with all buttons and leather stirrup straps to the cuffs, the buckles are present though one is rather bent. There is no tailors label present, though there are some handwritten inscriptions in the lining.
There are several moth holes, the worst being to the crotch. There are several smaller holes to the legs and rear area as pictured.
Size is approximately 31 inch waist and 30.5 inside leg.
