A great pair of RAF War Service Dress Trousers, dated 1945 and in a size 11. The War Service Dress uniform was a modified version of the Suits Aircrew uniform, which in turn was the RAF version of the army battle dress. This was issued to all airman as a working dress regardless of rank, which would be stitched onto the blouse.
This basic pattern of the trousers mirrored the economy army equivalent with the exception of the map pocket which was deleted from the RAF pattern. In turn, the field dressing was placed on the opposing hip. This pair retain their original issue label stating the maker as 'M. & N. Horne Ltd' and dated 1945. There is also a printed red and white service number label stitched to the lining. There is also a cleaning tag that has been stapled to the inside of the fly. All black plastic buttons remain present for the fly and braces.
The condition is very good overall with no moth damage or trailing visible. The crotch has some wear to the cloth from use but nothing serious. The lining and stitching is in good solid shape, retaining its colour. There is some minor marking from storage that would come out with handwashing, at present nothing has been done to them however.
