Fine example of a wartime RAF Service Dress jacket, as issued to RAF airman and NCOs, dated to 1942.
This example comes complete with its original belt as issued and has been used post-war due to the SAC rank badge, which was introduced in early 1951. The albatross shoulder badges however, are wartime and would have been attached in the factory when issued.
The label states it was made by C.W.S Ltd (Co-operative Wholesale Limited) and is stamped as a size 10. The suitable fit would have been 5ft 9- 5ft 10, 36-37 inch chest and a 33 waist. The War Department ink stamp is present just above the label stating O as the letter code, for 1942. The label has been scribbled on by a storeman for ease of issue.
The jacket is in good clean condition and has no marks or moth damage, with a good nap to the material. There is only minor service related wear overall. All brass buttons are present and intact, this is a good clean wartime example.
