Unusual tailored example of the RAF issue service dress trousers as issued to airman and NCOs, theses are the wartime white lined pattern stamped with a "P" above the issue stamp dating them to 1941.
They have been tailored to allow a twin waist tab cut to the front, with a buckle to either side of the waist. This was a style featured on some khaki drill trousers and shorts. There is khaki drill lining to the reverse of the tabs, indicating the airman most likely served overseas and had them altered there.
They are in good condition generally, with some verdigris to the brass buttons that would benefit from a clean. There is a spattering of moth damage below the waist and crotch as pictured, one button appears to be missing from the fly. The brace buttons to the outside waist have been removed.
The size is approximately a 31-32 inch waist and a 32.5 inside leg.
A slightly unusual pair of trousers, with Middle East and Far East interest.
