Unusual magazine pouch made of lightweight green cotton canvas, with three magazine inserts for the Sterling submachine gun.
It appears to have been removed from something, possibly a belt. This is likely as the man's name has been written to the reverse, indicating it was not stitched onto a seperate piece of material like a vest.
There are eyelets to the bottom of each magazine cell, suggesting it could have been designed for use in the jungle.
It is unusual in that there is a single flap with twin fasteners, as opposed to individual flaps as the later pouches featured.
Overall an unusual and possibly experimental item designed for the Sterling in the post-war era.
