Ornate example of a French 75 mm inert shell casing, having been used for trench art and sold as a souvenir. No doubt gracing a house porch or hallway as an umbrella stand.
The casing is dated 1917, having a floral decoration artistically hammered into the brass of the body. The brass is in need of a polish but has been left as is. There are some minor dings and scratches as to be expected.
